Before I tell you more about me, please take a moment to read this
lovely email from a recipient (I've removed the names for privacy):

It's so nice getting emails like that! I really enjoy helping ladies,
& it’s lovely to have biological children as a result.
Towards the bottom of this email are many more references. Some
ladies have included contact details, so you can call or email them if
you'd like to chat. They'd love to hear from you!

Your choice of donor is very personal, so please read my profile
carefully before deciding whether to use me. I would describe myself
as academic and inventive. I'm independent-minded and not
generally a team player. I'm tall, dark, slim & fit, but not
'sporty'. I'm not ugly, but I'm no George Clooney. I'm quite helpful
& chatty, with an unusual, slightly eccentric approach to life. I
have slight autistic tendencies, & I sometimes suffer from depression.
You must be comfortable with your donor's looks, skills & personality,
as their traits are at least partially genetic. Am I the kind of
person you want as a donor?
Below is my full family/medical history, and a DNA scan to show your
doctor. (It's roughly the middle third of this email.)
I strongly recommend you have a DNA test before using ANY donor. A
DNA test costs about £150 from 23andme.com. Discount vouchers are
available if you search online. Because I've had this scan, there's a
lot more info available about my health than you're probably used
to seeing. This doesn't necessarily mean I have more health issues than
normal - I can just give you a lot more info.
I've also included details of any health problems I've been
made aware of with the babies. It's very important that you go to
see your GP before having a donation, as your choice of donor can
greatly affect the health of your baby. Your doctor will be able to
offer you personal advice, to help you pick the right donor for you.
You should take all the medical sections of my profile when you visit
your GP. These are clearly marked, for your convenience. If you need
additional advice, please ask your GP to refer you for genetic
counselling. Please note that I am very reluctant to donate to
recipients who refuse to seek medical advice before trying.
Most babies have been healthy. However, there have been various but
significant problems with 5 (full details are given below). There is
no clear link between all these problems, so each may just be bad luck,
or could be caused by the mums' genes. However, the proportion of
my donor babies with health problems is several times higher than
average , so it is possible that my genes have played a part. It is
therefore very important that both you and your GP are fully aware of
