Other Info: Getting ahead of myself here! I'm still thinking about whether I want to become a single parent, but wanted to register with this website, as I've read good things about it elsewhere and I want to explore it for myself. No, really, am still very much just thinking about options at this point and am not ready to start meeting/discussing things with potential donors. I don't know how to put this any more clearly than I've done here - in saying the blindingly obvious, having a child would change my life fundamentally; choosing to have a child alone is subversive and would have a life long impact on any child I have. I've still not made up my mind about whether this is something I want to do, which means offers to donate are premature at this stage.

If I go ahead with this I want to find someone who:

1. Is in principle open to donating again in 4-5 years time, so my child has a full sibling.

2. Is willing to provide sperm for home insemination.

3. Is willing to provide enough of a medical history for me to answer the questions I will be asked by the midwife on booking and to get in touch with me in the event of any new diagnoses that relate to genetics.

4. Is willing to be in contact by way of Christmas cards/other occasional contact. The advantage to me of using a donor I find privately and not via a fertility clinic is that my child(ren) can grow up knowing who their father is. He will have a name and a photograph and some degree of occasional contact, so that I don't have children who reach adulthood without any of that.

5. Has thought about how many people he's going to donate for in light of the number of children who may be born and get in touch in the future.

6. Has discussed donation with his partner(s), if any, and anyone else he is particularly close to.
