After a year of careful consideration we have recently decided to look for a sperm donor rather than go through a private clinic.
We have always been quite skeptical on sperm donation, and I guess this boiled down to us not being the most educated in it. We had our hearts set on a private clinic so we didn't really look in to other options. But now the times right we have done just that and decided sperm donation is the route we will take to start a family.
Kerri works with a lady who's sister is also in a same-sex marriage and after several failed attempts at a private clinic they also decided on donor sperm. They have recently given birth to a beautiful baby boy created with the help of who we are told, is a lovely man who travels the world for work and does not have the time he'd like for his own family, but has always wanted legacy in the world. After lots of questions asked and answers given we realised this is the better option for us and one that we prefer and feel more confident doing.
We are looking for someone just like that. We would prefer for the sperm donor not to have contact/parental responsibilities but we are more than happy to keep in contact and send photographs, this is a situation that is open for further discussion.
We also ask that the sperm donor can provide us with a copy of photo identification and relevant paperwork to prove the donor is clear of STI's, HIV etc.. another thing which will need to be agreed is a sperm donor agreement which I am sure you are more than aware of, again this a matter for further discussion.
A bit about us, we got married in September 2014 and have recently moved in to our second home in Middlesex. I will be turning 23 this year and Kerri will be turning 25.
Unfortunately my wife Kerri suffers with PCOS (Polycystic ovary syndrome) and would struggle to conceive both naturally and artificially, if ever it was successful by private treatment or donor sperm the chances of a successful and healthy pregnancy are too low to risk, that being said, we have decided that I will carry. I am healthy, don't smoke, don't do drugs and very rarely drink alcohol.
I work full time in the retail industry and Kerri works full time in housing. We earn a comfortable yearly income together and have the opportunity to save each month after bills are paid. Kerri is the higher earner and will return to work full time after 2-4 weeks of paternity leave. I will return to work part time after 9 months full pay plus up-to 12 months maternity/half pay.
We are both very family orientated and combined have a very large family. We have both been brought up with morals and manners and will also bring our child up the same way. We have the support of all our friends and family through this time and have three future grandparents that are very excited about our new journey.
We are more than ready and prepared for pregnancy and to start our own family, and we are very excited about finding the right guy to become our sperm donor.
We would love to hear from you if you think the above is what you are looking for in a couple to donate to, so please do contact us so we can discuss things further and in more detail.
Kind regards,
Kirsty and Kerri
------------------------------- ------------------------------- ------------------------------- ----------
We would like to do this in the comfort of our own home and ask that you only contact us if you are happy to come to our home and provide us with a donation so we can use the correct equipment to carry out a home insemination.
We all know there is plenty of free donor sperm options out there so we ask you not to ask us for large amounts of money but we are more than happy to discuss an amount to cover loss of earnings and/or travel expenses.
Many thanks
xx
