Search for Sperm Donors in United Kingdom NOW!

The Birmingham Sperm Bank was set up in 2012 to help produce more sperm donors in the UK.

1 in 6 couples across the UK require fertility treatment and over 500 sperm donors are needed across the UK. Many couples have to wait for up to 2 years for treatment.

Donors are required from all nationalities, religions, ethnicities and cultures to fulfil the demand. There is currently a high demand for asian sperm donors and chinese sperm donors.

The Birmingham Sperm Bank recruit donors according to National guidelines that state you should be a healthy man, between 18 and 45 years old. You may not be able to donate if you have a serious medical problem, a disability, or a history of congenital, family or hereditary (inherited) disease.

What does donating sperm at the Birmingham Sperm Bank Involve?

All sperm donors will need to be willing to attend the clinic regularly for initial tests and then donating. A final screening process will take place 6 months after your last donation.

Sperm donors will be asked to complete a questionnaire and have their semen analysed in order to ascertain the suitability of the sperm.

Blood and urine samples will be taken to ensure screening for various diseases. You will also be asked to undergo a physical examination. These tests are taken to ensure there are no problems that could harm any of the resulting offspring.

Sperm donation normally involves making 20 to 25 donations over a period of several months.

Does the Birmingham Sperm Bank pay a sperm donor?

As a sperm donor you are entitled to be reimbursed for expenses incurred as a result of donation, such as travel expenses, for which you will need to provide receipts. You are also entitled to compensation for loss of earnings to a legal maximum of £250.
